Structural Engineering
Integrated structural design and supervision for all building types — from low-cost housing to multi-million-dollar commercial complexes. WHG’s structural engineers have designed and supervised:

Civil Works — Water Supply, Sewerage & Drainage
Design and supervision of water supply networks, sewerage treatment plants, storm and foul drainage systems, and large-scale earthworks for residential and industrial developments across Sabah.
Scope includes: reservoirs, elevated water towers, fire reticulation systems, deep wells, treatment and purification plants, oxidation lagoons, pumping stations, and drainage catchment management.
Representative projects: Likas Industrial Estate infrastructure (350-acre catchment), Sindumin Water Supply (16-mile pipeline), Asia City Phase 1A & 1B drainage and sewerage, Inanam Baru Township civil works.
Roads, Highways & Earthworks
Road engineering and earthworks for urban trunk roads, federal highways, low-cost rural roads, intersections, and flyovers across Sabah. WHG has delivered motorway feasibility studies, highway realignment surveys, contract management, and construction supervision for JKR (Public Works Department) and private developers.

Marine & Offshore Engineering
Comprehensive marine engineering for Sabah’s extensive coastline: design and supervision of docks, harbours, wharves, slipways, jetties, mooring dolphins, offshore marine structures, land reclamation, dredging, and foreshore defense systems.
Representative projects: Schlumberger Asian Supply Base, Labuan (heavy-duty marine workshops and offshore supply base); QL Marine Products jetty, Sepangar Bay; Sabah Shipyard, Labuan (sea-wall and 30-acre foreshore reclamation); Petrosab Jetty rehabilitation.
Geotechnical & Foundation Engineering
Specialist foundation engineering for Sabah’s complex geology — coastal soft soils, hilly terrain, and variable bedrock conditions that require precision subsurface analysis before any structure is designed.
Services: soil investigation, earth slope stability analysis, site investigation reports, tunnelling and underpinning, ground anchor techniques, and deep basement design.
Power & Energy Infrastructure
WHG has been the civil and structural consulting engineer for Sabah’s power generation and transmission infrastructure over three decades, in collaboration with Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) and independent developers.
Representative projects: Teluk Salut 120MW/180MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, Sepanggar; 64MW Kubota Power Plant, Tawau; 48MW Large Scale Solar (LSS) Project, Kudat; 50MW Solar Farm, Kudat; Kimanis Sabah Transmission Interconnection; multiple 33/11kV PPU substations across Sabah; Sabah Ammonia Urea (SAMUR) Project, Sipitang.
Project & Construction Management
End-to-end project stewardship: development planning, capital budgeting, critical path analysis, contractor coordination, progress reporting, and authority submission management. WHG acts as the accountable project manager from contract award through to occupation certificate.

Investigation, Forensic & Environment Protection Department of Sabah Services
Structural failure investigation, forensic appraisal reports, and environmental impact assessments (EIA) for new development proposals. WHG prepares investigation reports for property owners, insurance companies, and government bodies where structural faults or failures have occurred.
